CARSON CITY — NV Energy is studying shipping solar and geothermal power to California. But regulators and consumer advocates are questioning the mammoth project.

Psychiatrist: Ex-doctor charged in hepatitis case competent to stand trial

A psychiatrist who evaluated hepatitis case defendant Dipak Desai for six months while he was at the state’s Lakes Crossing mental health unit in Sparks testified today that he thought the former Las Vegas physician was exaggerating the extent of his memory loss. Dr. Steven Zuchowski testified via video teleconferencing before Clark County District Judge Kathleen Delaney. Zuchowski said he wouldn’t change his opinion — that despite some brain damage from two strokes, Desai was competent to stand trial.
